Join our intensive 4 hours workshop, designed for researchers from all disciplines who want to confidently select the right journal for their manuscripts. Led by  Dr. Ayman Al-Qannah and Prof. Eyad Qunaibi, this practical workshop focuses on evaluating journal credibility, understanding indexing and key metrics, avoiding predatory and hijacked journals, and using journal-finder and AI tools effectively.

Through real examples and live demonstrations, participants will learn a structured approach to journal selection and apply it directly to participant-submitted manuscripts from different research fields.

1. Intensive and interactive live workshop with the instructors on Saturday, 5 September 2026 | 13:00–17:00 (Makkah Time), with permanent access to the session recording.

2. Practical hands-on application to strengthen understanding and facilitate real-world implementation.

4. Delivered in Arabic, with English used for key scientific and research terminology.
5. CPD-accredited workshop: The British CPD certificate is awarded upon successfully passing the exam, which remains available for 12 months from subscription. The exam must be passed within this period; otherwise, a renewal fee will apply to reactivate access.

7. Using AI in journal selection: How AI can help summarize journal information, compare options, and identify possible risks.

8. Estimating real review time: How to use available information and AI tools to judge whether a journal’s review timeline is realistic.

9. Common mistakes in journal selection: Practical examples of poor journal choices and how to avoid them.

10. Final journal comparison checklist: Key criteria for comparing journals before submission.

11. Live practical application: Applying the journal-selection checklist to two participant-submitted manuscripts.

Meet Your Instructors

Dr. Ayman Al-Qannah

a pharmaceutical scientist and expert consultant for the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), serving as an academic editor for the Q1 journal PLOS ONE. A certified medical statistician, he is also an international examiner for TSHP and ASHP, and an active member of key organizations including ASPEN, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC). He sits on multiple editorial boards, reviews for numerous scientific journals, and has authored 49 publications and three book chapters.

Prof. Eyad Qunaibi

A Professor of Pharmacology and a leading specialist in the field, graduating first in his class from JUST and earning his Ph.D. from the University of Houston with research at the Texas Medical Center - USA. With over 20 years of academic and research experience, he holds two wound-healing patents and has Tens of publications with about 1000 citations. He reviewed the renowned Lippincott’s Pharmacology Reviews (7th ed.) and authored the illustrated student guide PharmMedTerm.
